yep... i said it. go doughnuts!! i really did. you know me, i am a sweets kind of gal. i usually stay away from the devilish store bought kind as pictured, but this was a last minuet impulse purchase while i was out buying some toilet paper and bay leaves. the sugary preservative filled treat was a perfect start to a lovely new years celebration with candle light, blasted music of "Florence and the machines" and a little "she and him". after my fourth doughnut and much spastic jumping up and down dancing (picture Elaine from seinfield) i was ready to finally face the purpose of the celebration; the new year. this means re- evaluating the past year and moving forward to a productive and awesome filled new year! so i got out my new journal i got for Christmas and jotted down all my goals, aspirations, and ambitions ( are those the same thing?.. well- either way i made a great list) for this new year!
and the mood is set- just imagine "dog days are over" blasting in the background..
i found this diesel advertisement in an old fashion magazine- i thought it captured the moment.
(illustration by my developer Christina hull kunz) what bit of advice would a wise pudgy owl give for a new year? i'm not sure, but all i can offer for this new year to you is to follow you heart, be true to your inner greatness and let life unfold before you with an open mind, heart, and eyes. happy new year!
