places to smile: smile a while in SHIBUYA, TOYKO, JAPAN!!
As you all know- I had the amazing privilege to go on a shopping trip to JAPAN this month! It blows my mind that we were there just days before the heartbreaking earth quake and tsunami.. I only have WONDERFUL things to say about my exquisite trip to Shibuya! The Japanese culture is one to aspire to be like for sure! I felt so safe the whole time and everything was very clean and meticulously cared for. When we got lost, a friendly passer by would whip out their "iphone" and show us on google maps where to go. One time a lovely lady actually walked us to where we need to go, totally un-bothered and more than happy to help us! Even the toilets were nice. They would play music and warm the set for you... (thats another story..) The taxi cabs were clean and pristine with very professional gentlemen dressed to impress in navy uniform. The taxi doors opened automatically for you!! Everyone walked. The streets were constantly full from 11am- 3am at night. Being a to-do list kind of gal, my co- worker and I got up bright and early the first day to try to get in as much shopping as possible... not possible. NOTHING opens until 10:30 or 11am.. Even the breakfast place wasn't open at 8:00am! But over all, the trip was very successful. I still can't get over how NICE everyone was! They welcomed us with open arms and I must say, this visit has inspired me to try to cultivate an even more open heart! They are a NATION OF NICE PEOPLE and I will keep Japan in my loving prayers.
here are the street photos! enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed your little snapshot street tour and enjoy your daily pondering!
